It doesn’t rain, it pours!

We have two hardworking 4×4’s in our TRSRC fleet, which you will normally see zipping around Adelaide looking downright sharp with spiffy signage and a whole lot of equipment on board.  Unfortunately, in unrelated incidents, BOTH of our workhorses are out of action!IMG-20140821-WA0001_opt

This one caught it from a reversing car whilst innocently parked nearby – it will be a week in the shop having panels replaced and painted etc…

Meanwhile as of yesterday our blue dual cab is up on high in the workshop while a mysterious ‘tap tap tap tap TAP TAP TAP TAP’ is diagnosed…

That leaves us with the office ute, commandeered to keep Adelaide’s roller shutter maintenance and repairs happening – so please bear with us folks as we may need to delay some of our height work – getting our biggest ladders around at the moment is difficult!

Fingers crossed too please that bad luck doesn’t always come in threes…we don’t want to lose the office ute as well!

Our warranty

We’re pleased to advise that we have published full details of our warranty on our website.  While it’s not as short and simple as we’d like, we are glad to provide the extra detail so that consumers can engage our services and be confident in what to expect.  Having to read a bit of extra detail is a small price to pay for extra protection for our customers as consumers and for us as a service provider.  Roller shutters are a significant investment for homeowners, so we figure it will be a reassurance to many to be able to read the ‘fine print’ upfront (in not-so-fine print)!

Have a read of the warranty details here.

Meanwhile, has anyone noticed that the last couple of days in Adelaide haven’t been quite so chilly, and there’s that scent of summer on the horizon?  Or is it just me and I’m being way too optimistic!

Have a great week everyone!

Happy New Financial Year!

After our recent series of articles about roller shutter renovation, it’s time for a more lighthearted post. (Also, we’re really busy with the paper side of things given the financial year has just ended!). I don’t know the original source of this image to credit it, so my apologies to the original author, but I thought I’d share a funny image I stumbled across that made me smile:

Cheaper may end up more expensive in the long run!

It’s a lighthearted picture but I think there’s some truth to it as well! (And no, I don’t mean to say we’re in the business of drawing any kind of winged horse on roller shutters)!

Hot enough for you Adelaide?

Hot enough for you Adelaide?

Hot enough for you Adelaide?

Now that we’re finally back down in the lower 40’s, I can risk firing up my computer for a few hours without it melting…!  Just an update to say a belated Happy New Year, and for those of you who made new year’s resolutions to survive consecutive hot days, including one day as the hottest city in the world….well done, you’ve made it!

Kudos to our boys who have been working in this heat to keep people’s roller shutters working – special mention to Jack who has been out nearly every day in this heat helping Adelaideans keep cool.

We know roller shutters – and websites!

There’s been a bit of a delay in posts, so I thought I’d better update everyone on what’s happening. We recently launched online with our website at: www.therollershutterrepaircompany.com.au. It’s been going well – a steep learning curve for me – though finally typing the long domain name has just gotten too much! So this past week has been spent building the website again at www.trsrc.com.au – a little quicker and easier to type, wouldn’t you agree!

The new, improved website will be ready in just a day or so – expect our next post later this week. Thanks for your patience – see you at the new site.

Why we’re in this business

Of course, we run our business to make a living, but The Roller Shutter Repair Company is much more than that for us.  It’s a chance to be outdoors in beautiful Adelaide doing what we love – and it’s also a chance to make a real difference to people’s lives every day.

Sure, fixing a broken roller shutter isn’t going to change the world – but we can make someone’s day with a simple, convenient, reliable and friendly service.  It’s honestly such a pleasure when someone calls us after a visit to thank us for our work…sometimes money’s not the be-all and end-all.

In case of bad days, and so we don’t forget why we do this, we’re going to record all the positive feedback we get on this page!  As I improve my website management skills, I’ll make a separate page for our little ‘testimonials’ so they’re all in the one place…

Margaret from Seaton called today after a broken strap repair today to say: “I told Jack I was going to call and say what a wonderful job he did and to say thank you for seeing me so promptly.  Jack’s very knowledgeable and personable, I was happy with the price, I will definitely call you in future, I was just thrilled to bits.  Please send me some of your flyers so I can hand them around, there are lots of people with roller shutters in this neighbourhood!!”.

Remember you’ve got the power to brighten someones’ day as well – it’s very easy to complain when we get bad service, so I always try to take a moment to thank someone when I get great service.

Online Mayhem!

I’m definitely getting the hang of our online tools! After changing the tiniest setting last night, our whole site went down! After some furious web searching, I managed to find the solution, typed in some fancy code, and we were online again within only minutes! Oh, and I’ve posted our first ad on Gumtree today – if you haven’t used Gumtree before, I can highly recommend you check it out. It’s free and helps locals connect with locals for services like – roller shutter repairs Adelaide!

Spring has sprung!

Thankfully our phone service wasn’t out of order too long; we’re getting plenty of calls from people across Adelaide who want to get their roller shutters repaired before the hot weather! A few days of heat has reminded folks of the climate control benefits of roller shutters – and in Adelaide with our extremes of hot and cold it’s no wonder we’re a roller-shutter-loving lot.

We’re doing our best to schedule our jobs efficiently to get to everyone quickly, but if you want to ensure your shutter is ready for the next hot spell give us a call before it warms up again. Chances are we’ll be invoicing you with our spiffy new invoices – which are being prepared by Adelaide’s Cove Print for us (find them on Brighton Road). Excuse the plug, but we do live our ethos of shopping locally, so from time to time we’ll mention our suppliers and hopefully help their businesses continue to thrive!
